Iowa Land Records and the Electronic Services System
The County Land Record Information System (now the Electronic Services Systems and Iowa Land Records) was created in 2003, allowing permanent records to be electronically archived to keep overall costs down.
The first generation of the Iowa Land Records website was launched in 2005. By 2006, the option of submitting electronic documents for recording through this site was created. This service owes its origins to the passage of Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA). Iowa was the first to create a statewide system for electronic recording.
